Sol M. Hoberman was born in Russia about 1910 to parents Louis and Sadie. He lived 56 years in Detroit. He was a commander of Eli Levin Post of the Jewish War Veterans, commander of the Department of Michigan JWV (1953-54), member of the national executive committee of JWV, president of the JWV Memorial Home Association, board member of the national JWV shrine, and second vice president of the Veterans Boxing Association.
 
 
Mr. Hoberman passed away in 1977. Post 135 was renamed for his memory in 1980.
