Formed in 1947, the Morton Albert Silverman Post 418 was established as a memorial to this fallen comrade who served in World War II between the years of l943-1944. Silverman joined the Infantry Division of the Army and became a decorated hero.
Silverman reached the rank of Sergeant in the 37th Armored Regiment before he was killed in action. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He was killed on September 14, 1944 knocking out an enemy pillbox.
